The PLFA Congress 2018 Postponed
PLFA's Ordinary Congress, which was supposed to be held on the 17th of March 2018 was postponed due to Quorum not being met.
The Congress was scheduled to be held at Molambo Hall from 9h00. At 10, Quorum was at 42%.
In accordance with Article 20.3 of the PLFA Constitution, this Congress has been duly postponed 7 days later, same time. The Venue will now be Mbolekwa Bowling Hall due to a request from members present at the cancelled meeting, owing to the sound in the bigger not being clearly audible.
It is important to add that this was the elective congress. It is not desirable that in an Elective Congress, those who vote for the Executive Committee that will run the association for the next four year to be a bare minimum allowed by the Constitution. Such a committee would not enjoy the necessary support it requires to move the association forward, and such would have an overall impact on the association.
It is therefore urged upon all members of the association to be present and ensure that not only the correct leadership is elected, but that the correct resolutions are taken.
In order to do this, Members will have to do the following:
* Drop the Atteridgeville vs Saulsville (or vice versa) attitude and see Phelindaba as one suburb;
* Pay the membership (affiliation) fees in order to remain in good standing;
* Send the credentials to the Secretary of the association at info@plfa.org.za;
* Read the Reports and Motions in order to engage robustly on those;
* Come to the Congress on time on the 24th of March 2018 at Mbolekwa Bowling Hall.
Contrary to popular beliefs, organisational direction is steered by the membership, not leadership.
See you all there!!!
